About Rashawnda Walker
I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York. I have been serving in the United States Air Force for 12 years and plan to retire at my 20th year of enlistment. While in the Air Force, I began attending school in 2005. I have received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Education and Training and an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a Master’s of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am currently applying for a PsyD with a focus on child psychology.

My role in the McKenna Recovery Center is a Mental Health counselor who along with assisting clients with their sobriety and keeping them on the road to recovery, help them maintain proper mental hygiene, which is the foundation of recovery. My passion is people and the entire helping profession. I enjoy hearing new stories and the makings of human beings. I enjoy talking and helping people discover facets they never explored about themselves. The part of my job I love the most is individual client interaction because that is when a client opens up the most about who they are and allow me to help them self-actualize.

My favorite thing in the world to do is spend time with my immediate family. I have three children and a husband and our favorite things to do together is sightseeing, hiking, traveling and the beach. Also I enjoy watching them enjoy activities they are enrolled in such as cheerleading, gymnastics and baseball. I enjoy being the leader of a praise dance team at my church and bible study.
